The new US Social Security Disability Retirement System is just around the corner. In just a few days, anyone who is eligible will be able to receive a monthly check to spend on what they need.
However, those who do not meet the requirements will not receive their Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payments in June. However, keep in mind that payments may arrive on different days. Different retiree groups have different payment dates, and what we need to know is which retiree group we belong to.
Next, on June 18, 2024, group 3 of Social Security recipients, whether disabled or not, will be able to receive benefits. Therefore, it is enough to check the requirements to be part of this group. Once you know the requirements, you can mark on your calendar whether you will have a payment on that date or not.
New Disability Benefit Requirements
As we mentioned, disability payments will arrive on June 18. The new checks will pay out up to $3,822, but not all Americans will qualify for these payments. Each check is completely different, so keep that in mind when managing your family’s finances.
The payment you receive in June will be the same as the previous months of the year. Although COLA increased your check in 2024, there are no longer any mid-year increases. So you will receive the same amount as the checks you received in May and the remaining months prior.
Regarding the requirements, there are two things to remember. These two requirements are mandatory. On the one hand, we must have received retirement benefits after May 1997. On the other hand, our birthday must be between the 11th and 20th of each month. This puts us in group 3 of retirees and allows us to receive benefits on June 18th.
Also, remember that disability benefits are not mandatory, you can use any type of allowance to receive it on this day, if you belong to a different group, you will receive the money on a different day. The calendar is very easy to understand, you just need to check the conditions for each collection day.
