Shocking photos have been released showing firefighters trying to put out the massive fire that has broken out in Los Angeles, California, with 1,200 people already forced to evacuate.
The blaze, dubbed the “Post Fire,” has burned 4,400 acres near Gorman on Interstate 5, about 62 miles northwest of Los Angeles, according to an update from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).

Pictures showed firefighters struggling to contain the flames around them on Saturday night, with orange smoky smoke as a backdrop.
Cal Fire said temperatures in the region are expected to be slightly warmer and less humid through Sunday, so “residents are urged to remain vigilant and be prepared to evacuate if there is a change in fire activity.”

California State Parks evacuated people from Hungry Valley Recreation Area in Gorman, and both Hungry Valley and Pyramid Lake reservoirs were closed due to fire threats, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said at 8 p.m. local time.
According to officials, the fire broke out around 1:45 p.m. Saturday. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

According to the fire department, the fire was moving southeast toward Pyramid Lake, and firefighters were building a perimeter and aircraft were trying to contain the blaze in poor visibility.
The South Coast Air Quality Management Agency issued a smoke watch for the X and warned residents of Castaic and Santa Clarita to stay indoors and use air conditioners or air purifiers.
