Recognize and encourage the protection of workers’ and persons with disabilities’ rights

Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) invites you to join us for a hybrid event titled “Awareness and Promotion of Worker and Disability Rights Protection” on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am.

Following the first Democracy Summit, which recognized the importance of strengthening the rights of workers and people with disabilities, the United States has led the Labor and Democracy Cohort.

In line with the Summit and cohort goals, MCC recently added employment opportunity indicators to its annual Country Scorecard that measure disability rights, forced labor, workplace discrimination, and the ability to start civil society organizations.

During the upcoming Second Democracy Summit, MCC will host an event to bring together stakeholders from international labor and disability rights organizations to learn about MCC’s unique model, highlight the new indicators, and discuss how their inclusion in MCC’s scorecard can encourage countries to undertake reforms in these areas.

The event will also feature a talk by UCLA’s WORLD Center for Policy Analysis, which produces the data on disability rights and workplace discrimination that forms the basis of the index.
