Flights between St. George and Los Angeles to resume after four-year delay

ST. GEORGE — Southwestern Utah residents will soon be able to get to Hollywood, Disneyland and many other locations around Los Angeles faster.

St. George-based SkyWest Airlines announced this week that daily flights between St. George Regional Airport and Los Angeles International Airport will resume this fall through United Express, one of SkyWest’s various airline service partners, marking a return of service that ended in 2020.

Flights from St. George will depart at 11:30am Mountain Time each day beginning September 26th, arriving in Los Angeles at noon Pacific Time. Flights from Los Angeles will depart at 1:30pm Pacific Time, arriving in St. George at 4pm.

United Airlines began selling tickets for its upcoming flights on Friday.

The return of direct flights between St. George and Los Angeles comes after service ended in 2020 and several attempts to reconnect the two airports stalled.

The St. George News reported in 2022 that low-cost carrier Avero Airlines was still hoping to resume service after announcing plans to fly between St. George and Hollywood Burbank Airport and then postponing them soon after. But that service never materialized.

When United Airlines service resumes in September, southwestern Utah residents will have five nonstop options through a partnership with SkyWest Airlines, which offers daily service between St. George and Salt Lake City, Denver, Phoenix and Dallas through partnerships with United, Delta and American Airlines.
