The 4th of July is just around the corner and the festive mood is in the air. No Independence Day celebration is complete without a fireworks display. And what better place to celebrate the national holiday than in Los Angeles’ most popular vacation spot? Los Angeles Independence Day Fireworks: The Best Places to Visit

Rose Bowl

After watching an exciting MLS match at the Rose Bowl, catch the fireworks show. The match will be between LA Galaxy and LAFC and will kick off at 7:30 pm in Pasadena. The match was introduced as a replacement for America Fest, which was cancelled due to budgetary constraints. The soccer match will be followed by a spectacular fireworks show to celebrate the 4th of July. Crackers will be launched from the adjacent Brookside Golf Course. Time Out reports that the venue will be busier than usual.

Marina del Rey

Experience a fire and light show with ocean views in Marina del Rey. The annual fireworks show takes place directly above the Marina Channel, where the water acts as a perfect sparkling mirror to reflect the show in the sky. The fireworks can be viewed for 20 minutes starting at 9pm. The display can be seen from waterfront hotels and restaurants and as far away as Venice, where High Rooftop Lounge hosts ticketed rooftop parties.

Disneyland

Disneyland is known for its daily fireworks shows, but during the national holiday, you can see special Fourth of July fireworks at the amusement park. The fireworks have a red, white, and blue theme, and some even have the words “Celebrate America!” written across the sky. If you want to visit Disneyland right now, you can watch the fireworks after 9:30pm as long as you make a reservation in advance.

Hollywood Forever Cemetery

For movie buffs, the National Holiday weekend couldn’t be more exciting as Cinespia hosts a three-day film festival followed by a fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day on July 4th. The festivities kick off in Hollywood with screenings of Rocky on July 4th, Charlie’s Angels on July 5th and Shrek the Second on July 6th.

Long sandy beach

The fireworks show begins at 9pm on Long Beach in Queensway Bay. Admission is free. The fireworks can be viewed from waterfront attractions, or if you’d prefer to watch the fireworks from the water, you can board a boat from Rainbow Harbour ($50-75) or the Queen Mary ($55) for food and music.

Huntington Beach

The Huntington Beach Pier is known for its legendary Fourth of July celebration. Plan a day at the beach with plenty of activities, including a parade, fitness expo, 5K run, and the 4-day Pier Plaza Festival. Savor American cuisine and soak up the sun until the fireworks show at 9 PM.

Universal Studios

Universal Studios will be celebrating America’s birthday with a Universal and patriotic themed extravaganza. Details of this year’s celebration have yet to be announced, but last year’s included themed decorations and drum and fife performances. Fireworks from the studios can be seen around 9pm.

Hollywood Bowl
