Invisible disabilities can be physical, mental, intellectual, sensory or related to a medical condition and can be lifelong or temporary. In certain environments, people with invisible disabilities may experience challenges that others do not.
Dublin Airport is committed to improving the airport environment to provide a pleasant experience for all passengers, and we also offer assistance options to help you plan and carry out your journey through the airport.
Sensory Room
Dublin Airport has two sensory rooms, one in each terminal after the security check process. Click here for more information.
Important flyer
Passengers with autism or Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) can find the airport environment challenging. The security check process in particular can be difficult due to sensory overload and the need to give up important possessions in order to be screened. For this reason, Dublin Airport has introduced Critical Passenger Lanyards to highlight to staff that these passengers may require additional support as they go through the screening process.
Please note that Important Flyer lanyards are only accepted at Dublin Airport and require application and a confirmed diagnosis of Autism or SPD. See below for application details.
To request a wristband or lanyard, please fill in your details in the form below.
Please note that when requesting a wristband or lanyard for a critical passenger, you will need to provide a short note from their GP confirming that the person has been diagnosed with autism. Please complete a separate application form for each critical passenger i.e. if you have two critical passengers please complete two applications. Attach your application to the form below or post it to Dublin Airport, Movement Restrictions Coordinator, Level 5, Terminal 1, Dublin Airport, County Dublin. All enquiries should be sent to [email protected]. For instructions on how to request a wristband or lanyard, please contact the Dublin Airport Movement Restrictions Coordinator by email at [email protected].
*Due to high demand, wristbands and straps will only be issued to those whose travel arrangements have been confirmed. Applications will be processed in order of travel date, and we aim to issue wristbands/straps two weeks (14 days) prior to travel.
To ensure your application is processed and dispatched promptly, we encourage prospective passengers to submit their application 40-60 days prior to their flight. Applications received less than 14 days prior to their flight will be processed as soon as possible, but there is no guarantee that you will receive your wristband/strap in time for your flight.
However, support may also be provided by our support service provider OCS: OCS Head Office +353 1 944 6108 (8am – 4pm).
