Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) to start new payments in July
SSDI payments will arrive for eligible U.S. disability benefit recipients as early as July 10. Of course, you’ll only receive one of the three remaining checks or direct deposits.
This check does not apply to you if you received Supplemental Security Income or Disability Benefits before May 1997. Apart from these two conditions, your birthday must be on a specific day.
SSDI Eligibility in July
If you have Social Security Disability Insurance and were not eligible for payment on July 3, your payment date could be July 10, 17, or 24. There is a mandatory birth date requirement to qualify.
For example, if you were born between the 1st and 10th of any month, your SSDI check or direct deposit will be due on July 10. If you are not eligible for the July 10 payment, you may fall under one of the other two payment dates.
If your birthday is between the 11th and 20th, your payment date will be July 17. Some disability pension recipients will have to wait until July 24 to cash their check. If you receive both SSI and SSDI, your next payment date will be August 2.
July SSDI Payment
You can collect Social Security Disability Insurance benefits as long as you are eligible, but your benefits may be reduced if you are working, so be sure to report any changes to the agency to avoid overpayments.
The maximum SSDI amount is $3,822, the same as someone filing at full retirement age. You must work for at least 35 years to receive this amount.
This amount is not enough because you have always had a job that is in the highest tax bracket and is covered by the Social Security Administration. The problem is that if you become disabled, you may not get the maximum benefit. No one knows when the unthinkable will happen.
