Medical Management of People with Disabilities

Happy Friday! Today we are going to go grocery shopping when Bit comes home from work. It depends on what time she finishes work. She is supposed to finish work by 11, but that hasn’t happened yet.
I fired my doctor on Monday, I have an appointment with a new doctor next Tuesday, but we’ll see how it goes, and I’m hoping that at least my regular prescribed meds will be well-prescribed.

Today I want to talk about healthcare and disability. Many of us have been gaslighted, denied appointments because they’re “too complicated,” sent from one place to another without ever receiving any actual treatment, or asked to make multiple phone calls to make arrangements that we just can’t afford.

As you can see from Itzl’s concerned look, this is the group that checks in to let you know we are safe and not affected by heat, snowstorms, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or anything else that would cause us to leave DKos. If you are not here or elsewhere in DKos, we will check in if there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heat waves, hurricanes, etc.) If you are going to be away from the computer for a day or a week, please let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join and a good place to learn how to write a diary. Feel free to PM one of us at any time to be added to the Itzl Alert Network. We all share publishing duties and everyone who reads IAN is welcome to write a diary for the group. All members are editors, so anyone can take a turn as an editor when they have something to say, photos or music to share, or activities or news to promote.
