MERRILL, Wis.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Church Mutual Insurance Company, SI (stock insurance company)1, is proud to be named a Best Place to Employ People with Disabilities for the second consecutive year. The company achieved the highest score of 100 on the 2024 Disability Equality Index, improving on its score of 90 in 2023. The index is a comprehensive benchmarking tool that scores companies on a scale of 0-100, with companies scoring 80 or higher recognizing them as Best Places to Employ People with Disabilities.
Church Mutual’s participation in the Disability Equality Index allows the company to benchmark its progress and ensure its policies and programs are aligned with best practices in disability inclusion.
“This valuable initiative provides us with a framework to evaluate our efforts and identify areas for improvement,” said Pam Stampen, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “We are pleased to have earned the title of Best Place to Work for Disability Employment, but we also understand this is a journey, not a destination. We will continue to strive for excellence in our efforts to create an inclusive work environment for all.”
There are more than 1.3 billion people worldwide with disabilities. Disability is a natural part of the human experience and crosses boundaries of age, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status and other demographics. The Index exists to help companies positively impact disability unemployment/underemployment while helping them create long-term value for their employees and shareholders.
The Disability Equality Index was launched in the US in 2015 as a joint initiative between Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities and is recognised today as the most powerful disability inclusion assessment tool in business.
