A suspect remains at large after a hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles in January, and police hope newly released video footage will help them track him down.
According to a press release issued by the Los Angeles Police Department, the hit-and-run occurred at 7:42 p.m. on January 22nd at the intersection of 8th Avenue and 60th Street in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The victim, a 72-year-old woman, was hit while crossing the street.

New video posted by the Los Angeles Police Department shows the suspect’s vehicle, a late-model gray SUV, making a right turn on a green light, with a “pedestrian” sign visible in the footage, indicating pedestrians have the right of way.
After striking the woman, the SUV stopped briefly, backed up, then moved forward, striking her.
The woman sustained serious injuries following the collision and was taken to a local hospital.
The driver’s description has not been released, nor is the exact make and model of the vehicle he was driving.
The investigation is still ongoing.
