A magnitude 4.9 earthquake and at least two aftershocks were reported in the Barstow area northeast of Los Angeles on Monday afternoon.
The quake, which struck San Bernardino County’s Mojave Desert, was followed by aftershocks measuring 3.5 and 2.8 on the Richter scale, and was felt in Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Chino, Universal City and Claremont, according to the USGS website.
The closest earthquake fault to the epicenter is the Calico Fault, which crosses the desert.
There have been no reports of damage at this time.
Barstow is about 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
