Fiat unveils latest 500e drop “Inspired by Los Angeles” with special paintwork and JBL audio system with virtual venues curated by Andrea Bocelli. Pricing for the 500e Inspired by Los Angeles starts at $36,000.
Fiat USA has unveiled its latest 500e special edition, the third so-called “drop” of its cute urban car line, the Los Angeles-inspired one. As the name suggests, this is a nod to the City of Angels, a metropolis known worldwide for its glamour, sun, wealth and beauty.
The latest model comes with some special touches, including Marine Layer Mist paintwork. Fiat says this unique hue is reminiscent of the coastal marine water layer that occurs naturally between May and June. The color is matched with the matte gray side mirror caps and black window trim. Finally, the exterior is finished off with a set of machined 17-inch wheels with a diamond-cut finish. Customers can choose between summer or all-season tires.

The interior of the Fiat 500e Inspired by Los Angeles features a body-color matched instrument panel, beige eco-leather seats and a seven-speaker JBL sound system with subwoofer that includes four virtual venues to transform the listening experience, first introduced in the 500e Inspired by Music that debuted earlier this year.

Fiat has collaborated with legendary opera singer Andrea Bocelli to personally select the virtual venues: Giuseppe Verdi Opera House, Open Air Arena, My Recording Studio and My Music Room. On the safety front, the Los Angeles-inspired 500e is ready for Level 2 autonomous driving, assisting the driver on select roads with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance. According to the automaker, the 500e is the only car in its segment to offer this feature.
Same electric drivetrain with 117 horsepower
Aside from the special touches, the Inspired by Los Angeles is mechanically identical to other 500e models. A 42 kWh battery powers a single electric motor that produces 117 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The 500e won’t break any acceleration records, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds. Hopefully, the Abarth model will come to the U.S. to satisfy performance-hungry fans. It’s also perfect for city driving and short commutes, making it an ideal second or third car. Fiat claims a driving range of 149 miles, round trip to a charging station.

Pricing for the Inspired by Los Angeles starts at $36,000 (plus delivery). While that’s quite a lot for such a small car, the 500e is well-equipped and the price includes a Level 2 charging wall unit or charging credits. It’s worth noting that the first drop, the (RED) edition, was cheaper at $32,500. “The new Fiat 500e Inspired by Los Angeles reflects both our Italian heritage with its classic 1000s design theme and Made in Turin, as well as Los Angeles culture reflected in its Marine Layer Mist color and urban mission,” said Amir Ahmed, head of Fiat North America.
