Adani Foundation funds treatment for physically disabled girl in Uttar Pradesh

Kelly, a 10-year-old class 5 student from Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh, lives with her elderly grandparents after her mother passed away and her father remarried. Kelly is physically disabled and her story of the hardships she faces was shared on the social media platform X.

Adani Group Founder and Chairman Gautam Adani announced that the Adani Foundation, the community-based arm of the Adani Group, will support the girl and provide her with better treatment.

Reacting to the social media post, Adani praised the efforts made by Lovely’s grandparents for her education and said, “It is sad to see a girl’s childhood stolen like this. Little Lovely and her grandparents’ struggle represents a typical Indian family that never gives up.”

“Adani Foundation will ensure that Lovely gets better treatment and grows up like other children. We are all on Lovely’s side,” Adani added.

Lovely lives with her grandparents in Lakhimpur Kheri, Kandalapur village in Uttar Pradesh. The girl’s grandfather was overcome with emotion after Adani Foundation announced the grant. Prakash told NDTV, “Lovely was always worried about her future and would always ask her grandma till when she will be able to go to school and study, but with this grant, tomorrow will be better. It has given us hope.”
