The powerhouse singer will take to the Warwick stage on Friday night (June 7) as part of the streaming giant’s “City Sessions” segment of its “Forever The Influence” series.
Tickets for the Los Angeles show are still on sale for $15 through Dice. Doors for the 21+ event open at 5pm PST and the concert begins at 6pm PST. Fans who can’t attend can tune in via livestream on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel.
More programming from Amazon Music’s Rotation is planned for the coming weeks. “In June, we’re celebrating Black Music Month by celebrating Black artists whose work serves as a powerful reminder that Black music is the American songbook across many genres,” said Sierra Lever, head of hip hop and R&B at Amazon Music.
She continued, “‘Forever the Influence’ gives fans around the world a front-row seat to performances by artists who continue to spread Black music and cultural influence for generations.”
Andra Day will be performing feel-good songs from her CASSANDRA album followed by a Q&A with the audience.
The Golden Globe winner’s album, CASSANDRA, drops May 10 and marks Andra Day’s first solo LP since her 2015 debut. “Interestingly, I named the album after myself, to kind of re-examine who I am and who I was created to be,” she told Billboard about the project at the 2024 Women in Music event in March. “I wanted it to be an album that’s a little less apologetic and open about my experiences.”
The “Cheers to the Fall” singer recently spoke to amNY and assured fans that it won’t be nine years until her next album drops.
“I want to make music more and more consistently,” she says. “One day I’ll take another break. It won’t take nine years. I want to make an EP with artists I love. Lots of EPs, in all genres, in all styles. I want to support the other producers who worked on this album.”
