Anthropologie is the latest retailer to introduce a clothing collection aimed at better meeting the needs of people with disabilities.
The company announced the launch of its first Adaptive Collection this month in response to demand from the disability community for more inclusive products.
The initial assortment includes eight of the brand’s most popular items that have been updated to include adaptive features such as magnetic snap closures, zipper closures along the inseam of the pants, and tabs and snaps for customizable length. The company said all the updates are designed to make the garments more comfortable, easier to wear and easier to take on and off.

Anthropologie worked with Lucy Jones, founder and CEO of disability-focused fashion lifestyle brand FFORA, and a group of influencers with disabilities to create and perfect the adaptive clothing. In addition to the revamped designs, the adaptive collection also features other items from the retailer selected by the influencers.
“Recognizing that the simple act of getting dressed can be a challenge for many women, we aimed to extend the joy of our most treasured items to everyone, including those with disabilities,” said Richa Srivastava, chief creative director, women’s concept and design, Anthropologie. “Collaborating across our teams, we brought passion to every aspect of development and humbly navigated the complexities of adaptive design. The real reward was witnessing the enthusiasm of our fit collaborators, whose feedback validated the profound impact of inclusive fashion.”
The company said the Adaptive Line is available in stores and online and will continue to be available in the future.
