ORLANDO, Fla. — Changes to Disney’s theme parks Disability Access Services (DAS) program to accommodate guests with disabilities began Monday.
What you need to know Disney Theme Parks and Resorts implement new changes to disability access services Registration is now set for 120 days instead of the previous 60 days
DAS registration will no longer be available through the parks’ guest relations offices starting Monday at Disney World and June 18 at Disneyland.
The program is designed to accommodate guests with developmental disabilities who are unable to wait in regular queues or lines for extended periods of time.
One of the biggest changes to the program is that guests must meet with a cast member via virtual video call at least 30 days before visiting the park.
The call will allow a Cast Member to communicate with the Guest individually to discuss their specific request and provide assistance.
According to the program’s homepage, DAS does not provide instant access to experiences, instead allowing guests to request a re-access time for a specific experience that matches the current standby wait time.
Other changes include the registration process: the registration period is now set to 120 days, up from 60 days previously.
Guests requesting DAS must be present at registration, and disability services guests will be limited to four.
If Disney Theme Parks determines that a Guest’s statements requesting disability access services are untrue, the Guest will be permanently banned from admission to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
Registration for DAS will no longer be available at the parks’ guest relations locations starting Monday at Disney World and June 18 at Disneyland.
