Michael Gamel McCormick, disability policy adviser to Sen. Bob Casey, visited the Futures Rehabilitation Center facility on Tuesday.
Gamel McCormick toured the Futures work center and interacted face-to-face with some of the individuals to learn about the work they do for Futures’ industry partners. She then facilitated conversations with key members of FRC’s employment services team, executives and the CEO, highlighting Futures’ success in helping people with disabilities gain competitive employment.
“Gamel McCormick appreciated the continuity of employment services that Futures provides and the relationship that exists between the organization and the Bradford community,” representatives said in a press release.
He also thanked employment specialist Tammy Bennett and director of employment services Mark Racher for the work they have done to connect people in the community with employment opportunities, according to company officials.
Gamel-McCormick learned about Futures through online video success stories of several Futures customers who gained competitive employment.
The video, created in collaboration with the Administration of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Department of Labor and Industry, “really showcases what Futures does and how we can help people find employment opportunities,” company executives said.
