Girl goes missing while cycling to visit family in Los Angeles County


A 15-year-old girl has been missing for nearly a week since she vanished while cycling to a relative’s house in Los Angeles County, police said.

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — A 15-year-old girl left on her bike to visit a relative but never arrived and has been missing for nearly a week, according to Monterey Park police.

On July 16, at approximately 5:32 p.m., Allison Jillian Chao left her father’s home in the 200 block of North Inez Avenue in Monterey Park. Allison was last seen on a Ring camera at approximately 6:23 p.m., riding her blue mountain bike to her aunt’s house in San Gabriel.

At the time of her disappearance, Allison was wearing a black backpack, a purple T-shirt, black shorts and black shoes. She is described as an Asian woman, approximately 5’2″ tall, weighing approximately 96 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Allison’s mother, Annie Chao, told KTLA that her daughter was a straight-A student with no history of running away from home. She said Allison had not been in contact with friends since she went missing and had deactivated her social media accounts.

Police and family are canvassing neighborhoods in the area looking for Allison.
