LOS ANGELES – The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) today announced the arrest of an escapee on June 13, 2024 from the Women’s Community Reentry Program (FCRP) in Los Angeles.
Erica N. Ibarra was arrested without incident in El Monte at approximately 3:45 p.m. Ibarra was transported to the California Institution for Women (CIW) and remanded into CDCR custody. Her case will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on suspicion of escape.

Ibarra was admitted to Los Angeles County on January 9, 2024 and sentenced to two years in prison for second-degree robbery. She has been housed at FCRP Los Angeles since May 15, 2024.
FCRP allows eligible offenders incarcerated in state prisons to serve the end of their sentence in a reentry center, providing them with the programs and tools they need to transition from incarceration to society. It is a voluntary program for female offenders serving sentences of two years or less. The program connects offenders to a variety of community-based rehabilitation services that help with substance use disorders, mental health, medical care, employment, education, housing, family reunification, and social supports.
Since 1977, 99 percent of people who leave adult facilities, camps or community-based programs without authorization have been arrested.
