W: Well, I’m here today as an ambassador for the first ever blind Barbie Fashionistas doll.
I never thought the day would come when I’d live with a blind Barbie doll.
The world’s most popular doll has become blind.
what?
It means we are getting to a place of acceptance and representation in the world.
Oh my god.
I love your K and vy.
Oh this moves me so much.
I wish I had had this when I was little.
I’m so excited because I’ve never seen myself represented as a young blind girl growing up in this world.
All I wanted was a role model that looked like me.
And finally, there is one for R and IB, and for the blind and low vision community that we support.
It has proven easy to accept us as part of society.
If Barbie could be blind, we should embrace it all.

If blindness has been described as sassy, then blindness is cool.
Blindness is OK Back then, losing your sight was okay, but for young people it was a scary thing.
All the little Lucys out there who are struggling with their identity.
You no longer have to do that.
See, we don’t have to feel like we’re not enough because Barbie is telling us we are.
