What you need to know
Hundreds of restaurants will offer prix-fixe meals from July 12 to 26, 2024, for Dine LA Restaurant Week, organized by Discover Los Angeles. Some restaurants will offer two-course lunches starting at $15.
We’re so big in Los Angeles and have so much responsibility that even Restaurant Week isn’t really a real week.
It takes place over a two week period, with people taking two weeks at a time, but if you want to get a sense of the scale of it all, it takes a full half month.
And that’s not all: Dine LA, the fancy name for our local restaurant week, happens twice a year — which is actually pretty unusual, too, since restaurant weeks further afield usually only happen once a calendar day.
Luckily for you, the warm weather edition of Dine LA will be launching on July 12th, bringing with it a light and airy evening full of tasty dishes.
The person behind this massive event is Discover Los Angeles, an organization that is perfect for the festival because they promote LA, love LA, and know all about LA, and they truly understand the vibrancy of our great city.
And yes, “LA Know-It-All” is the ultimate compliment. Don’t we all want to be local pros with all the great Los Angeles answers? We’re unashamedly holding our hands up.
Some participating restaurants serve lunch, some dinner, and many offer both. Check this handy site for cuisine types and regions before you go.
Discover Los Angeles reports, “Dine LA Restaurant Week doesn’t require a ticket or pass; simply dine at a participating restaurant, order from the Dine LA Restaurant Week menu, and enjoy trying new dishes or enjoying old favorites.”
Also, here’s some solid advice from this excellent and well-informed group: “Advance reservations are highly recommended.”
The minimum lunch price is $15 in some locations, but may be a bit more in others, so as mentioned above, it’s a good idea to check in advance (note that this does not include tip or tax).
Additionally, many restaurants have published Dine LA menus on their sites.
Some of the spots on the list include Nomad Eatery in El Segundo, Canoe House in South Pasadena, and Openaire in Koreatown, but there are plenty more, so take a look at them all now.
