In her post, Garcia said she was “worried” and in a “freaky hospital”, and also compared herself to pop star Britney Spears, who has faced mental health challenges.
Garcia’s attorney, Darin Chavez, said in a statement to NBC4 that the boxer’s arrest comes as he is dealing with “devastating news regarding his mother’s health.”
“First and foremost, we ask that you respect Ryan’s privacy during this difficult time,” Chavez said. “Ryan has been public about his mental health struggles for many years and is currently under great emotional strain. He needs the support and understanding of his fans and the public as he navigates these personal challenges.”
“We are working diligently to provide Ryan with the resources he needs. Our team is committed to making sure he receives the appropriate support and care to address his current and long-term health conditions.”
Garcia is now charged with felony criminal damage to property.
