SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — It can be difficult for people with disabilities and their families to find the information and resources they need online. Now, the state of New Jersey has launched an online hub to serve as a one-stop shop for those resources.
The new Disability Information Hub includes services and information on education, recreation, employment and other opportunities. New Jersey Department of Human Resources Commissioner Sarah Adelman said the hub was built with input from the community that uses it.
“Many services for people with disabilities are provided by state and local partners and many organizations,” Adelman said.
“The Disability Hub brings these resources together in one place for New Jersey people with disabilities and their caregivers, families and advocates.”
This includes links to approximately 200 programs and services in the Department of Human Resources Services, Department of Health, Department of Education, Department of Workforce Development, Department of Community, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Office of the Attorney General, Public Utilities Commission and Office of Emergency Management.
“Together, we are breaking down barriers and empowering all New Jerseyans to thrive in their communities,” said Gov. Phil Murphy. “I applaud this whole-of-government effort to uplift our state’s disability community.”
Adelman said an audio version of the website is also available for visually impaired users.
