Metro Access
The area’s ADA paratransit services provide shared, door-to-door service that operates during the same hours as corresponding Metrorail and bus services.
Eligibility: A disability that prevents you from accessing or using public transportation.
Purpose of travel: No restrictions.
Service Area: Fairfax County, Arlington County, Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, Washington DC, and the Cities of Fairfax, Falls Church, and Alexandria located within ¾ mile of a bus or Metrorail line.
How to use: Book your ride 1-7 days in advance by calling 301-562-5360, TTY 301-588-7535, or book online.
Fares: Fares are calculated at twice the fare for the fastest comparable bus or Metrorail route, up to a maximum of $6.50 one way.

Fast Run Critical Medical Care
Transportation to life-sustaining medical care such as dialysis, cancer treatment and rehabilitation services.
Eligibility: Fairfax County residents who require ongoing, life-sustaining medical care.
Purpose of trip: Emergency medical appointment.
Service areas: Fairfax County, Arlington County, and the city of Alexandria.
How to get there: Call 703-222-9764, extension 2, or TTY 703-324-7079 to make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance.
Rate/Discount: Sliding scale up to $5.

Logisticare
Transportation to transport Medicaid recipients to non-emergency Medicaid covered services.
Eligibility: Medicaid recipients with no other transportation options.
Prerequisite: Must be enrolled in Virginia’s Medicaid program.
Purpose of trip: Medicaid covered services.
Service Area: Northern Virginia.
How to use it: For regular appointments, please call 866-386-8331 at least 5 business days in advance. Urgent appointments should be scheduled as soon as possible.

City Wheel
Subsidized taxi service for Fairfax City residents with disabilities who cannot travel by bus.
Who is eligible: City of Fairfax residents with disabilities who cannot use CUE buses.
Purpose of travel: No restrictions.
Service area: Within Fairfax and near the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail station, George Mason University and Fair Oaks Hospital.
How to use: Please make a reservation with a participating taxi company.
Price/Discount: $3.20 one way

Dial-a-Ride
A taxi subsidy program for Fairfax County residents who meet income criteria.
Eligibility: Fairfax County residents who meet an income threshold of 225% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Service area: You can use the service anywhere within the service area of the affiliated taxi company.

Price: Varies depending on trip.
Fair Wheels
A subsidized taxi program offering $40 a month in taxi vouchers ($10 copayment).
Qualifications: City of Falls Church residents who are 62 years of age or older or have a disability and must earn no more than $37,000 per year.
Purpose of travel: No restrictions.
Service area: Anywhere within the taxi company’s service area.

The program teaches people with disabilities to navigate public transportation safely and independently in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Target audience: People with disabilities.
Trip Objective: Throughout this multi-day program, you will learn a variety of travel skills that will enable you to independently navigate local transportation.
