One person was killed in a shooting on a subway train in the West Adams neighborhood of South Los Angeles on Friday.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened at approximately 7:20 p.m. at the Jefferson La Cienega Police Station in the 6600 block of Jefferson Boulevard.
Officers arriving on scene discovered one person had been shot during the shooting and died at the scene.
Police are searching for three suspects who fled the scene on skateboards.
Metro redirected all E Line trains from Culver City and La Brea stations while the train was being investigated.
SkyCal flew over the scene of the shooting, where more than a dozen police officers were seen investigating the circumstances of the incident.
No further information has been provided yet.
“The Greater Los Angeles area has a significant problem with street violence that spills over onto public transportation, and Metro extends its condolences to the victim’s family and friends,” a Metro spokesperson said in a statement.
