Ryan Garcia declares ‘freedom’ after LA arrest, troubled boxer describes ‘three days of hell’

Troubled boxer Ryan Garcia declared in a series of tweets Tuesday afternoon that he is “free” following his arrest in Los Angeles.

Garcia was escorted from the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills after causing damage to approximately $15,000 worth of property there.

The boxer has launched a campaign to “free” him, despite claims he was released from prison on Monday.

Garcia made multiple posts on Twitter saying he had been released from what he described as “three days of hell” in prison.

“I am free. I have so much to say. An official statement will be coming soon. God bless you all. RG BACK,” Garcia said in the first of a series of posts.

Ryan Garcia is celebrating on social media for being released from prison following his recent arrest. Garcia was led out of the Waldorf Astoria in Los Angeles in handcuffs over the weekend.

The rest of the series reads: “Three days of hell was no joke. I took some meds and managed to keep my sanity. Thank God.”

“I also intend to be a better example and take better care of myself from now on. I will always be myself and pursue evil, but I will be a better example and glorify the Lord Jesus.”

“Thank you to everyone who prayed and gave me good energy. They made me stronger. There are many struggles ahead but we have learned a lot from this and I have gained a lot. Praise the Lord.”

It’s not clear whether the tweets are a celebration of his release from prison or a sign that the charges against him have been dropped.

The 25-year-old, who tested positive for drugs after his huge upset win over Devin Haney in April, compared himself to Donald Trump and Britney Spears following his arrest over the weekend.

“It’s kind of crazy that both Trump and I are in prison,” he said. “I don’t know if he’s in prison, but I know he was convicted. This sucks. But I love Jesus, so I’m OK with it.”

In a series of tweets, Garcia proclaimed himself “free” while thanking his fans for their support.

In another post, Garcia wrote, “I feel like Ryan Spears aka Britney Spears. Sucks. I have never hurt anyone, I have only ever loved everyone, prayed for people and am trying to change this cruel world. I love Christ Jesus. Amen.”

Garcia beat Haney earlier this year despite being about four pounds overweight, but his erratic behavior before the fight led many to question whether he was mentally stable enough for the bout.

After the win, it was discovered that he had tested positive for the banned substance ostarine the day before and on the day of the fight, and a requested B sample also came back positive.

But his team argues that the results of the B sample prove his innocence, and that he is simply the victim of contamination by the supplement.

TMZ reported last week that Garcia was checked on by police at the same hotel after receiving a call from concerned family members.

Officers found him safe and that appeared to be the end of the matter.
