SASSA Grant Payment Dates 2024: Seniors, Disabled People, Children

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) began paying out June grant payments this week.

SASSA is responsible for distributing grants and allowances to underprivileged people who require financial assistance.

This week is the June 2024 grant payment

According to the latest count, SASSA is responsible for providing social welfare benefits to about 29 million South Africans.

This figure includes 4 million old-age pension recipients, 13 million childcare recipients, 10 million Social Relief for Destitution (SRD) recipients, and around 2 million disabled people and veterans.

SASSA recipients can receive their SASSA payments from certain supermarkets, including Pick n Pay, Boxer, USave merchants, Checkers and Shoprite, and can collect via their SASSA card, CashSend or have the amount deposited directly into their bank account.

SASSA’s June 2024 payment will be made this week.

Those eligible for Senior Citizens Allowance will have their payments collected on Tuesday 4th June, while Disability Allowance will be paid today, Wednesday 5th June.

Child benefit payments, like all other benefits, will be paid on Thursday 6th June.

If you are eligible for any of the grants listed above, please keep a record of the payment date.

Record these dates in your diary

Critical payment dates will be confirmed well in advance so affected people can mark their calendars.
