Shifty Shelshok’s loved ones are honoring him in a big way… with plans underway to celebrate his life, TMZ has learned how they’ll be showing their love.
Ilya Krokav, a childhood friend of Shifty’s, told TMZ that they’re planning a celebration for friends and family in Los Angeles in the next month or so, which fans can attend.
They are still searching for a venue, somewhere that can accommodate several hundred people, and we’re told they haven’t yet decided what the musical tribute will look like.
Crocuff said artists who worked with Shifty (whose real name was Seth Binzer) will perform, and organizers are working with legendary graffiti artists friends of the Crazy Town singer to paint murals of Shifty around Los Angeles.
Of course, this memorial wouldn’t be complete without the participation of Crazy Town… and we’ve heard that Bret “Epic” Mazur is heavily involved and is respectfully considering what to do to honor him at the event.
As for the family… they have reportedly given the go ahead to have a ceremony, and although names have not been confirmed, we are assuming some of the family members will be in attendance.
The family will hold a separate private funeral in Shifty’s memory.
As we reported, Shifty, 49, passed away last month at his Los Angeles home.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s investigation into the cause of death is still ongoing, but the band’s manager, Howie Huberman, said he died of an accidental drug overdose.
