LEEDS, N.Y. — The “Think Differently About Disability Employment” bill has passed the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support.
The bill was introduced by Rep. Marc Molinaro (R-NY’s 19th District) and Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH’s 1st District).
The bill establishes a collaboration between the National Council on Disability and the Small Business Administration (SBA) to help small businesses address accessibility challenges for employees with disabilities and support entrepreneurs with disabilities while increasing employment opportunities for people in the disability community.
Molinaro’s “Think DIFFERENTLY” campaign aims to remove barriers and create pathways for the disability community.
“Everyone, regardless of ability, deserves the opportunity to succeed and pursue their passions,” Molinaro said. “This legislation will ensure that individuals with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities have the support and resources they need to start their own businesses or contribute to small businesses.”
