We are proactively working to employ people with disabilities.

We reserve a minimum number of interview slots for candidates who apply through our Disability Confident scheme and meet the minimum criteria for the role.

The minimum criteria for a role will be the “essential” criteria set out in the job description unless otherwise specified.

Applicants with disabilities can join the scheme by ticking the appropriate box on the online application form. Applicants do not need to be “registered” as disabled to be eligible for the scheme, nor do they need to share details about their disability or health condition.

Due to the volume of applications we receive, it is often not possible to interview all willing applicants with disabilities who meet the minimum criteria for a position.

If the number of qualified candidates with disabilities is greater than the number of reserved interview slots, the candidates with disabilities who best meet the essential criteria will be invited for an interview.

If a Disability Confidence candidate scores the highest among all applicants they will automatically be invited for an interview and will not count towards the ring-fenced slots.

The specially reserved interview slots are for disability-positive candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role but would not otherwise be invited to an interview – recognising the many barriers that people with disabilities can face when applying for work.
