Do you know of an individual, business or organization that deserves recognition for their service to people with disabilities in Culver City? The Culver City City Council and the Culver City Disability Advisory Committee, through the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, would like to recognize one individual and one business for their activities planned for Disability Awareness Month in October 2024.
“Culver City is proud to celebrate and raise awareness of Disability Awareness Month and the incredible contributions to our city from our entire disability community. The more we educate, the more inclusive Culver City we can build and move forward,” said Culver City Mayor Yasmin Imani McMorrin. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on City Council and city staff to recognize the individuals and businesses who continue to work to improve opportunities and spaces for all residents, businesses and visitors.”
The recommendation criteria are as follows:
Nominees of any age must be Culver City residents or work for or volunteer for a Culver City resident.
Nominated businesses or organizations must be located in Culver City or provide services to Culver City residents.
Individual nominees are people with disabilities who have demonstrated outstanding work as inspiring role models within the disability community over the past year.
A written description of what the candidate does or has done for people with disabilities within the past year.
An explanation of why the nominee should receive the award
Candidate’s name, address, and phone number
Name, address, and phone number of the recommender
All nominations must be received by Friday, July 26, 2024.
