Presented by KCON LA 2024.
Last weekend’s KCON festival gave K-pop fans a rare opportunity to see their favorite artists in person across three days of conventions and concerts, but ZEROBASEONE maxed out the excitement in Los Angeles by unveiling a surprise new album on the festival’s final day, Sunday (July 28).

After the nine-member boy band performed their singles “Feel the POP” and “In Bloom” at the Crypto.com Arena, a cryptic video was displayed on the KCON sign with the phrases “Cinema Paradise” and “August 2024” written on it. The members were quick to admit that the teaser was a “comeback spoiler” for the audience.
Cinema Paradise marks ZB1’s fourth K-pop release since debuting with his EP “Youth in the Shade” on July 10, 2023. Spoilers for the comeback, “Film,” below.
ZEROBASEONE isn’t the only artist to use KCON LA to tease new songs.
Shortly after ZB1’s surprise album release, next KCON performer Jeon Somi revealed that she would be returning to the K-pop world with “Fun Summer Song” at the end of her stage. The soloist performed the melody and lyrics of the new song, encouraging the audience to sing along with the call-and-response lyrics, “Come get some ice cream… / It’s too cold!”
Somi’s agency THEBLACKLABEL quickly confirmed that the singer’s new single, “Ice Cream,” will be released on August 2nd, sharing the photo below.
Elsewhere during KCON, Billboard 200-charting boy band P1Harmony thrilled fans during a “red carpet” ceremony on Saturday, July 27, when leader Kiho said, “We’re making a comeback sooner than you think.”
Additionally, Japanese girl group ME:I (born from Produce 101 Japan the Girls, the Japanese version of the K-pop singing contest organized by KCON organizers CJ E&M) shared a live performance of their new single “Hi-Five” ahead of its official release on August 28. The 11-member group currently peaked at No. 2 on the Japan Hot 100 with their debut single “Click” in April.
The music video for “Hi-Five” was released just hours after the group’s live debut in front of fans at KCON.
According to KCON, 5.9 million fans from over 170 countries attended the festival both in person and online over the three days of this year’s festival, matching the 5.9 million viewers from 176 regions who watched last year’s festival. With surprise announcements and bonus new song performances this year, millions of fans are sure to tune in to KCON Germany 2024 in September.
